Macrohistory -- or big history as some call it -- describes connections across multiple microhistories.
All of us have a picture of humanity's past. It is this picture that makes us Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Skeptic or what have you. Macrohistory creates perspective, and its purpose should be to make the big picture more clear.
